A one-stop, highly efficient, cost-reducing solution for stainless steel and carbon steel machining.
In industries such as sheet metal fabrication, kitchen and bathroom hardware, and the production of doors, windows, and guardrails, welding is a core manufacturing process. Traditional methods like TIG and stick welding commonly face challenges including difficulties in recruiting skilled welders, low processing efficiency, and heavy post-weld grinding—issues that constrain factory output and profitability. The introduction of Horizon Laser Technology’s handheld laser welders has brought a completely new process solution to the machining of stainless steel and carbon steel.
The handheld laser welding machine transmits the laser beam to the handheld welding torch via an optical fiber, allowing operators to perform welding simply by holding the torch. The equipment integrates a laser source, a cooling system, and a control system, and is equipped with mobile casters for flexible repositioning between workstations. It eliminates the need for complex tooling and fixtures, enabling ordinary workers to operate it after brief training. Far from replacing automated production lines, it expands the scope of laser welding applications, balancing high‑volume production with the requirements of irregularly shaped parts and on‑site welding.
For stainless steel fabrication, handheld laser welding offers particularly significant advantages. Its welding speed can be 2 to 10 times that of conventional GTAW, substantially reducing processing time. With highly concentrated laser energy and an extremely narrow heat-affected zone, it effectively minimizes warping and distortion in thin‑plate welding. The welds are smooth and uniform, with minimal spatter, often eliminating the need for post‑weld grinding or polishing and allowing direct transfer to the next operation. Moreover, it significantly reduces porosity and slag inclusion defects, resulting in high‑strength welds—making it ideally suited for products such as kitchenware, bathroom fixtures, and decorative components that demand stringent surface quality.
In carbon steel processing applications, the equipment also delivers outstanding performance. With power ratings ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 W, it is compatible with welding of 0.5–6 mm thick plates, seamlessly handling both thin‑plate joining and medium‑to‑thick‑section component fabrication. Welding efficiency is 3–5 times higher than that of conventional processes.
For high-carbon sheet materials, appropriate preheating can effectively prevent microcracking, thereby meeting the demands of batch processing for steel structures and hardware components.

Addressing common industry concerns, the equipment has been specially optimized: it features an intelligent oscillating welding head that enhances weld‑seam tolerance, enabling even novice operators to produce consistent results; multiple power‑range models are available to address insufficient penetration in thick plates; and the entire system is equipped with comprehensive safety safeguards, including a welding‑torch safety lock and laser‑based warning alerts, along with a full set of protective gear, ensuring operator safety during use.

Currently, this equipment has been widely adopted across multiple industries, including welding of kitchen sinks and cookware, sheet-metal fabrication for chassis and cabinets, manufacturing of doors, windows, and guardrails, production of metal signage, and machining of automotive sheet-metal components. It accommodates a variety of metals, such as stainless steel and carbon steel, effectively reducing labor costs and streamlining the production process.
